New Richmond Utilities Donated $2,400 in 2007

In a look back at contributions and donations made last year, New Richmond Utilities is pleased to report that it provided financial support totaling $2,400 for community causes in 2007.

    New Richmond Utilities’ 2007 community contributions included:
  • A $750 Public Power Scholarship to local student Heather Pitzen. Pitzen is attending Northwestern College in St Paul, MN.

  • A $750 donation to the Youth & Family Initiative to support the local youth trip to New York, to attend the 2007 Healthy Communities • Healthy Youth® Conference.

  • A $250 donation to St Croix Economic Development Corporation.

  • A $200 donation to Faith House.

  • A $200 donation to Quilts for Kids & Families.

  • A $150 donation to St. Croix Animal Friends.

  • A $100 donation to sponsor the Sesquicentennial picnic.

“New Richmond Utilities is pleased to be able to contribute to worthy local causes through our community contributions program,” says Dennis Horner, City Administrator and Utility Manager. “As your community-owned utility, we’re committed to helping make New Richmond a great place in which to live and work.”

New Richmond Utilities’ community contributions fund was established to promote awareness of New Richmond’s community-owned utility.

The funding was provided in-part by our power supplier, Wisconsin Public Power Inc. Overall community contributions by WPPI’s member utilities totaled approximately $214,700 in 2007.
